Focus on More than One Keyword for Effective SEO Results
The first step for any SEO campaign is to identify the beneficial keywords for each (and every) page of your website and then optimize your website pages for those keywords. However, with the changing face of search engine indexing and increasing attention to semantically related keywords, now you need to focus on more than just one keyword. Using a single keyword for each page and putting in all the SEO efforts to promote that page is unlikely to yield the most beneficial SEO results.
So what is Semantic Indexing?
Latent Semantic Indexing or LXI is the indexing of web page according to the keywords mentioned in the web page as well as the topically related keywords. So it is ok to assume than when a certain page is relevant to a particular keyword, the modern LSI and search engine also consider the page to be relevant for a list of topically related keywords. Therefore, the websites that offer a good selection of keywords that are semantically related are more likely to enjoy beneficial SEO results than the websites that use their entire focus on a single keyword. Moreover, by using a good number of related keywords in your web content, you can show the search engines that the content is written naturally and is not just keyword stuffed. It is something like using cheap business telephone systems for making business calls and getting free Internet along with it.
The process of SEO is constantly changing to support the changing face of search engine optimization. Using topically related keywords is one such change that is due to the result of a significant shift in indexing procedure employed by major search engines. For now, using a single keyword for all your SEO efforts and link building campaigns is not likely to generate the similar positive results as it once did.
